Reasons to Drop By Starbucks
It’s tough to start blogging at the same time as a “real blogger”. The post count makes me look really bad. I’m spending far more time tinkering on the codes behind Typo than I am actually using it. So ok, I’m not a real blogger, just a pirated version. :p
As promised, here’s a quick mention of Starbucks (I might start typing sbux out of habit, so remember sbux == Starbucks).
One of the big reasons I like hanging out at Starbucks (aside from nice smells, good coffee, comfy chairs, working Wifi…) is the people there.
I met a new friend a couple of days ago while having lunch with my classmates. She works at Starbucks near my school. Nice friendly person. Some of her colleagues that I met the first/last time I was there actually remembered me, and it was cool to be able to get some updates about them as well. At that same Starbucks I met a really nice couple from Sudan. We had a nice chat, the husband teaches Computer Science, and we had a good discussion on how important the basics of the science was, and how sad it is that many courses nowadays are giving up C and Assembly to teach Java. (Ok, need to keep this non-geek-friendly. Or is that nongeek-friendly?). Go back another month or so and I recall having a great time listening to one of the coolest barista tell me bits of his life story. Cool guy, plus he’s a hard core Apple fan. :)
So there, a quick snapshot of the kind of people whom I’ve met at Starbucks in the past month or so.

Coffee Notes
I’m currently having Gold Coast for the drip machine*, Guatemala Antigua for the press. And leftover uh.. some fair trade beans in the office.
*The Gold Coast beans were grinded at 1U New Wing Sbux, but the results look much coarser than I think they should. They look more like it’s for the press. But it was set to 12 o’clock. Could it be that the grinder’s blades need some sharpening? Can some real expert share some wisdom here?
(Oh, most bean names mentioned here would be from Starbucks. I’ll try to go thru them all before I start on other ranges).
